Documentation Requirements

In order to be considered for the Dream America program the following documents are required along with your application: 

$5k+ Cash Available Towards Your Homes Purchase (payment due before move in)

  • Bank statements, two most recent (all pages).  Most recent statement must show $5,000+

  • Documentation of the source of your down payment (if funds are coming from 401k, Brokerage account, etc.)

If you don’t have at least $5,000 available now, please work on your savings and apply in the future.  Please note, most successful applicants have more than $5,000 in savings so that they have funds needed for Dream America, for the 1st month’s rent, any “rent overlap” involved with moving out of their current home and moving expenses.

Income

  • W-2 forms, with last two years of income

  • Federal tax return, last two years and proof of payment / payment plan

 

  • Paystub for the last 30 days

 


Documentation of any other sources of income (SSI, VA Benefits, Child Support, etc.)

 

If an applicant is self-employed, Dream America requires the following documents:

  • Federal tax return, last two years and proof of payment / payment plan

  • Bank statements, two most recent (all accounts)

  • Documentation of the source of your down payment (if funds are coming from 401k, Brokerage account, etc.) 

In order to submit your application to underwriting, all required documentation must be received.  You may also be asked to submit other documents in support of your application.  Please submit PDF files only.  Need a scanner?  Download the evernote scannable app for free on your phone - it is an easy way to make PDF files from any document.

It is free to apply and only takes 5 minutes to see what you might qualify for.  Once pre-qualified, submit your required documents to move toward full approval.  Good luck and happy housing!
